Unpack your Brother printer box and remove the sealed tapes. Remove the orange protective covers from the drum unit. Load a stack of paper. Turn on the printer after connecting the power cord to the power source. Switch on the computer. Configure the network connection and install the driver software. Try to print or scan using your Brother printer.
Steps to Set up a Brother Printer
- Take out the printer from the package and remove the packing materials.
- Remove the sealed tape and unwanted materials from the drum unit.
- Slide out and install the starter toner cartridge in the drum unit.
- Insert the drum unit. Take out the input tray, load papers, and push the tray in.
- Connect your Brother printer to an electrical socket and turn it on.
- Turn on your computer and set up a network connection.
- Download and install the driver software from the Brother printer site.
- Print or scan using your Brother printer.
The Process of setting up a Brother printer
- Receive the Brother printer and check that the printer box is sealed. Remove the sealed tape and the orange materials from the printer. Slide out the drum unit and remove the orange tab. Install the starter toner cartridge in the drum unit.
- After the installation of the toner cartridge, place the toner cartridge in the drum unit which you have received along with the printer.
- Move in the drum unit after placing the toner cartridges. Slide the input tray towards outside of the printer. Move the paper guide to the edges to place the paper.
- Insert a stack of paper in the input tray and move inside the tray until it snaps to the place without any bends or wrinkle. Slide the input tray inside the printer.
- Connect the Brother printer to a power outlet using a power cable. Turn on your Brother printer by pressing the Power button. On the machine’s touchscreen, press the Settings icon and tap on Initial Setup. Select your language by clicking the Local Language option.
- Try installing the driver software using a CD-ROM. Tap on the Connection Type option to choose the mode of network connection.
- To connect through a USB, click on the Local Connection (USB) option. Click on Wired Network Connection (Ethernet) to connect through an Ethernet cable. To use the Wi-Fi connection, click on Wireless Network Connection.
- Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer. The printer keeps searching for the Wi-Fi network. Once it gets connected to the network, the lights glow steadily.
- After selecting the network mode, tap the Next option and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the network setup. Browse the official Brother site to download the driver software.
- Select the region where the printer was manufactured. Search by entering the printer model. Download the software and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver software. After a successful installation, try to print or scan using your Brother printer.
