Connect your Brother mfc-l2700dw printer to a wireless network using the WLAN access point or a router supporting Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Before you configure the wireless settings, know the wireless network settings of the WLAN access point or router.
Brother MFC L2700DW Printer Wireless Setup Guidelines
- Connect your mfc-l2700dw Brother printer to a wireless (Wi-Fi) network
- Place the mfc-l2700dw Brother printer within the range of your WPS.
- Check whether you have plugged in the power cord.
- Turn On your Brother printer.
- Wait until your printer goes to the Ready state.
- Hold the WPS button on your WLAN access point or router for a few seconds.
- Press the Wireless setup button at the rear of your printer for at least two seconds.
- Wait until the Ready LED light of your printer blinks.
- The wireless setup is now complete.
Set up your MFC Brother printer on a wireless network
- The MFC-l2700dw Brother printer supports the use of the first WEP key. If your router has more than one WEP key, enter the one used for the first.
- Find the Network name and key on the side of your WLAN access point or router. View the document that comes with your access point or router.
- The network name can be either the name of the manufacturer or the printer model. Configure the wireless settings using the printer’s control panel.
- Connect the AC power cable to your printer and electrical socket. Power On your Brother printer. Click Menu, use the UP or Down arrow keys to choose Network and then press OK.
- Choose WLAN and click OK. Click the Setup Wizard and press OK. Enable the wireless network to begin the Wireless setup wizard.
- The printer finds your network. A list of available SSIDs appear on the screen. Select the SSID that you desire using the Up and Down arrow keys and press OK.
- If you use an authentication and encryption method that requires a Network Key, enter it. Type the WEP code and press OK. Choose Yes to confirm the settings or No for canceling it.
- Your printer tries to connect over the device that supports wireless, chosen by you. If your wireless device is connected successfully, then the printer's LCD displays Connected. The printer prints the Wireless network status page.
- Check the error code on the report if the connection fails. If your Brother printer has a touchscreen, go with the steps given below.
- Press Settings, All Settings, Network, WLAN, and Setup Wizard. The message “When Switch Network interface to wireless?” displays on the screen. Press Yes to begin the wireless setup wizard or click No for canceling it.
