Step by step solution to solve the paper feed roller error in printer
- Although performing a reset in the printer will rectify most of the issues, you can have to be sure of certain things before proceeding with a reset to see if there is an issue with the rollers.
- Take the paper out from the input tray, and check if there are any objects blocking the paper feed pathway. Check the quality and type of paper loaded in the tray. You can refer to the instruction manual to know about which kind of paper to load.
- Do not overload the paper tray by stuffing in a large stack of paper. This will automatically result in a paper jam when the rollers are not be able to collect the paper from the stack easily.
- Al papers loaded in the stack should be of equal size. Move the paper width guides against the paper limits so that they rest on them, and constrict any free movement.
- Print a test page, and check if you can print freely without any issues. If you are still not able to get rid of the issue, you can clean the paper rollers.
- To perform this process, first cancel all the print jobs from your computer/compatible device. Turn OFF the device. Remove the power cable connected to an electrical outlet.
- Make sure the printer’s rear is not connected by a power cable to avoid any power fluctuation issues while performing the cleaning process.
- Open or lift the input tray depending upon your printer model. Use a torchlight to find any bits of paper stuck inside. Clean the paper rollers with a wet swab or cloth.
- Leave them to dry. Do not connect the printer right away, as it might cause internal problems with the printer. After 10 minutes, connect the cable back into its respective power ports, and turn ON the printer.
- Adjust the paper settings appropriately. If the paper loaded in the input tray does not match the paper settings, then the machine will not pull in any paper. Try printing a test report now.
