Necessary steps to scan to email feature
- Install the full feature driver on your Windows system.
- Switch on your printer and system.
- Place the media type such as document or photo on the scanner glass.
- Keep it along the engraved guides.
- Long-press the Scan button to begin scanning.
- Save the scanned file in the destination folder.
- Change the destination folder if required.
- Send the scanned files based on the steps mentioned below.
What is the method used to perform the Scan to email feature?
- If you are using a Windows system, you need to follow the steps mentioned below. The Scan to email feature operates on most local email client such as Microsft Outlook, etc.
- Install the email client and configure the system using the client. Use the Web-based email accounts should be sent via local email client to scan them. If the printer contains a touchscreen control panel, choose the system name from the Scan menu. Click the Email as PDF option.
- Specific web-activated printers will have a Scan to Email app in the Apps menu. It sends email directly from the printer with the help of the printer’s email address.
- If the printer contains buttons, proceed with the steps given below to start the scan process. In Windows, type HP. Choose the printer name from the list.
- Refrain from proceeding until the HP Printer Assistant displays. Select the Scan option. You need to press the Scan a Document or Photo option. Wait for a while for HP Scan to display.
- Select the email shortcut such as Document to Email. Click Scan to start scanning. Select Send. Wait for a new email message to open with the scans attached.
- If you are connecting the printer to a Mac system, open the Finder option. Click the Go option in the top menu bar. Choose the Applications. Double-click the Image Capture.
- Choose the printer name from the Devices or Shared list. Select the Show Details option located at the bottom of the screen. Wait for the Print preview screen to display.
- Choose the Scan mode to select either the Scanning bed or Automatic Document Feeder. Click the Mail option to choose the Scan too.
- Choose the file name of the scan file. Select the PDF or TIFF format. Click the Combine into single document feature is available to save multiple documents into a single file.
- Select Scan as the new email message automatically opens with the scan attached.
