- Replace the tri-color and black printheads.
- Tap and hold the Resume button on the printer’s control panel for 3 seconds.

Detailed steps for HP Deskjet GT5820 Printhead
->Locate the Power button on the printer and switch it on. Ensure that the paper is loaded in the printer. Also, ensure that all the ink levels are above the minimum fill line.
->Close the output tray extender and rotate the output tray left. Ensure that the ink valve is unlocked. Also, locking the ink valve can cause ink to drip when replacing the printheads.
->Open the exterior and the printhead access door. If the carriage do not move to the center of the printer, reach inside and move it to the center manually.
->Push down on the blue carriage latch gently and it gets opened. Lightly press the tri-color printhead to leave it. Then, pull the printhead of the slot. If the printhead is difficult to remove, push up the blue latch.
->Open the packages and remove the new printheads. Pull the orange plugs up from the top of the printhead. And, remove the tape from the printhead contacts using the pull tabs.
->Slide the printhead at the upward angle into the empty slot and gently push up on the printhead till it holds into place.
->Then, insert the tri-color printhead into the left slot and black printhead into the right slot. And, close the blue carriage latch by pushing down till the latch holds into place. Close the printhead access and the exterior door. Pull the output tray out and raise the tray extender.
->On the printer’s control panel, tap and hold the resume button for 3 sec. The alignment begins when the blinking P becomes blinking A. The printer prints the alignment page and lift the scanner lid.
->Keep the alignment with the print side down on the right corner of the scanner glass. Close the scanner lid. And, position it according to the guides around the scanner glass.
->Close the scanner lid and on the control panel, tap the Start Copy Color button and printer begins the printing process.
