Detailed steps to set up the HP Envy 5055 printer
Find the manufacturer’s seal on top of the printer’s shipment box. If the seal is unavailable, replace the printer with a new one.
Rip the tape on top of the printer’s shipment box. Open the box and take all the resource materials and printer located inside the box.
Place the printer on a leveled surface. The resource materials include a setup guide, user manual, ink cartridges, software installation CD, power cable, USB cable, and warranty card.
If any of the mentioned materials are missing, inform the manufacturer regarding the same. Keep all these materials aside except the power cable. The power cable of the printer is required for power connection.
Insert the power cable between the rear end of the printer and a wall socket. Locate the Power button on the printer’s control panel. Press on top of it to turn on it.
Touch the required preferences such as date/time, country/region and languages on the printer’s control panel. Tap Yes to confirm your choice.
Never connect a USB cable at this time. After configuring the preferences, the next step is to install the ink cartridges.
Unlock the ink cartridge access door. Verify if the carriage moves slightly to the left and idle. Take the ink cartridge from of its package and tear the protective tape on top of it.
Handle the ink cartridge only using the black plastic. Never hold the copper or color contacts as it may lead to the ink system failure. Install the ink cartridge into their slots.
Input plain sheets of paper into the main tray. Move the paper width guides against the paper edges of the printer. After a few seconds, the printer prints an alignment page.
