- Lift the cartridge straightly upwards to remove it after you squeeze the tab on the cartridge. Before removing the new ink cartridges from their package, shake them for 4 to 5 times. Take the ink cartridge and insert it into the slot, and close the scanner unit. Finally, press the Stop button.
