- Gear up your printer and connect to the network.

- In your computer, select the Start menu and type “Printers and Scanners” in the search tool.

- In that menu, select the option “ Add a scanner or printer”. Wait for some time until it picks your printer model.
- The printer model will appear on the screen and double-click to connect to the printing machine.
- If the model number of your device is not listed, you add the printer by TCP/IP address or with the help of the hostname.
- The hostname or the TCP/IP address will be present on the rear end of your printer. By manually typing either the hostname or the IP address you can get connected.
- Select the menu TCP/IP Device. A command box appears asking the device type. Scroll down until you get the message TCP/IP Device and select it. In the Hostname or IP address box, type the hostname.
- Click next to connect the printer manually and your printer device appears in the list of printers found.
- By performing these operations, the windows should find the printer or else it indicates that there is an error in the configuration mechanism. In case the printer is not connected, you need to provide more information regarding your printer. If an error is evoked, click the type of network configured in the printer. Select Custom to determine the settings for the network printer. Then select “Next”.
