- Ensure that the button on the access point is ready to be pressed.
- Hold the Wi-Fi option on the printer till the alarm light flashes once.
- Release the Wi-Fi button after the flash.
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi lamp flashes quickly.
- Make sure that the ON lamp is lit.
- Tap and hold the button on the access point within 2 minutes.
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi and the ON lamp are lit.
- Refer to troubleshooting if the alarm lamp lights up and the network connection is now complete.
Steps to connect Canon printer to Wi-fi mg2950
- First insert the CD and select My Computer or This PC. Choose the CD-ROM and double-click MSETUP4.EXE. If you do not have the CD’s, download the link in our website.
- When the initial screen appears, select Next. Choose Wireless LAN Connection and then select Next. Choose Access Point Connection and select Next. Make sure that the Canon printer is turned ON, ensure that the green power lamp is ON and then choose Next.
- Make sure that the network for the printer is connected and then select Next. The installation starts and choose Next. Choose Cableless Setup.
- Press down the Wi-Fi button on the printer till the orange alarm lamp flashes 2 times and release after the second flash and choose Next.
- Ensure that the blue Wi-Fi lamp flashes quickly and the green power lamp is lit and choose Next. Once the connection is completed, select Next.
- Click your region and choose Next. Also, select your language and click Next. Choose the software and select Next. Choose Yes to the end user license agreement.
- Select Next and the software gets installed. Select Redetect to search for your printer again. If the cableless setup is complete, the screen shows the model of the printer and SSID of the wireless network and choose Complete.
- Select Execute->Next->Next. If you wish to register your printer, select Next. You can also register later by pressing the Cancel button.
- If you wish to participate in the Extended Survey Program choose I Agree. Otherwise select Do Not Agree.
- For a test print to your printer, select Execute. Else, click Next. Select Exit for its completion.
