Easy and simple steps to solve the paper jam error
- Paper jams may occur in many areas of the printer. If a paper jam is not found in one area, then continue to the next area till the jam is located.
- If you try clearing a paper jam from the front of the printer then it may damage the print mechanism. Try to get access and clear paper jams from the rear of the printer.
- Clear the jammed paper from the rear of the printer by doing these steps. Press the power button to switch on the printer.
- Disconnect the power code from the rear of the printer when the power is on. Press the clutch on the left side of the rear access door and release it after a while. Pull the door away from the printer in order to remove it.
- Gently remove the bits of jammed or torn paper from the rollers inside the printer. Attach the rear access door again. Turn on the printer after you reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- If you find any jammed paper that can be accessed from the front of the printer then remove it. The carriage should move freely across the width of the printer. Clean the paper feed rollers by doing the below steps.
- First, turn the printer off and then disconnect the power cord. Wet a clean cloth and press it against the rollers and rotate them with your fingers.
- Clean the rollers of the rear access door. Let the rollers dry for 15 minutes. Reconnect the power cord and switch on the printer.
- There may be a possibility of a paper jam error to occur even if there is no paper jam actually present. False paper jams may be solved by resetting the printer.
- After resetting the printer try to print again. Try servicing the printer.
