Detailed instructions for resolving common errors on Epson printer
- The most common issue occurring in any printer is the ‘Offline’ error. This is caused due to communication failure between the printer and your device. Carry out the steps below to resolve the offline issue.
- Hold the Windows and the R keys on your keyboard simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. Open the Devices and Printers folder and select the Epson Printer. Click the See What is Printing option.
- Now click the Printer icon on the menu bar and disable the Use Printer Offline feature if it is turned on. Make sure your Epson printer is set as default printing source on your computer. Try to print.
- Paper jam is another recurring issue on most printers. The jam may be in the paper cassette, document feeder, ink cassette or duplexer. Before fixing the problem, cancel all the print jobs.
- Now remove any torn paper bits stuck in the rear paper feed slot. Raise the scanner unit and remove any paper or other objects in it. If the issue persists, pull the paper cassette out and remove any jammed paper from it.
- Clear the paper jams from the duplexer. Pull the Automatic Document Feeder cover and remove any jammed pages. Open the document cover after closing the ADF cover.
- Pull the jammed page towards the right of the document cover. Lift the ADF input tray and clear jammed paper from it.
- Cartridge error occurs when the cartridges are not genuine or if they are not installed correctly. Take the ink cartridges out from the printer and place them on a clean paper towel.
- Clean the cartridges using a wet cotton swab. Remove the dust particles and stains on the cartridges. Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer. Do not touch the nozzles.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges into the printer. Make sure the color on the cartridges matches with color on the slot.
